Twas the Week Before Christmas

‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through Enid all the creatures were shopping their hometown merchants. We certainly encourage you to finish your Christmas shopping by supporting Enid retail outlets, whether at Oakwood Mall, downtown, Heritage Hills or wherever your shopping GPS leads you, shop Enid first.

If you are seeking last-minute Christmas gift ideas, stop by the Enid Welcome Center for items branded with the new Enid logo. License plates, t-shirts, tumblers, blankets and travel mugs are just a few of the items that say Enid. We also have the new DVD Guardian of the Chisholm Trail featuring Enid native Bob Klemme. The Enid Welcome Center is open 8-12 and 1-5 Monday through Friday and we are located in the historic Kress Building at the corner of Maine & Independence.

Speaking of Guardian of the Chisholm Trail, we had a wonderful time Sunday at the premier showing of the DVD at Convention Hall. Over 100 people turned out to watch the documentary and help celebrate Bob Klemme’s birthday which was on Saturday. Convention Hall treated the guests with movie popcorn, nachos and pretzels as well as a Chisholm Trail birthday cake.

Thank you to those who responded to the email Friday regarding our upcoming feature “Meet an Enid Insider.” If you missed Friday’s email, this will be an every-week feature on our new newsletter-formatted calendar which will start after the new year, so if you live or work in Enid please don’t put off sending in your questionnaire. It will only take a few minutes and will help potential Enid visitors find out information about our city they might not find anywhere else. Contact me if you have any questions regarding this feature.

Just an FYI, the Enid Welcome Center will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 1 and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Anyone needing Enid information during this time can still stop by the Welcome Center as we have Enid Visitor Guides, city maps and quarterly calendar of events in the brochure rack outside the front doors.

Stake your claim for holiday fun this week in Enid!
