Trappings of the Cherokee Strip Art Show features Oklahoma’s best Western artists and craftsmen. The show includes new artists as well as Trappings favorites who have been in one or all of the shows. Trappings is expertly exhibited to showcase the beauty of each item. All works are available for purchase, deliverable following the close of the show with a portion of all sales benefiting the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center.
Artists exhibiting works for sale this year include Barbara Jacques, Brenda Dewald, Dewayne Colwell, Doug Cook, Harold Holden, Dr. David Keller, John David Rule, Kathryn Leitner, Marshal Rule, Mary Lou Christie, Mikel Donahue, Sarah Harless and Stephen Jones.
On display will be paintings, drawings, wood turning, sculpture, works of silver, cowboy boots, rawhide works, decorative gourds, pottery, and furniture.
Opening night reception is February 23 at 6 pm, and the show will be open during regular museum hours through March 24. The show is free with regular museum admission.
