The American Farmer exhibit, opening September 1, showcases the selected work of forty-five images from the collection of photographer Paul Mobley. Mobley set out to capture the soul of the country's farm communities that highlight enduring rural traditions, family, integrity, and hard work. The resulting images show farmers with a strong sense of where they belong in the universe, a close connection to the land and their day-to-day work as it affects the rest of the world.
Paul Mobley is an American photographer whose career is grounded in Midwestern roots. The book American Farmer: The Heart of our Country, written by Katrina Fried, contains his photographic portraiture of farmers from thirty-five different states.
This exhibit runs through October 20 and is open during regular museum hours Tuesday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm.
